![]() ![]() The children know to sound out or Fred Talk each sound whilst pointing underneath the letters, then to blend the sounds to make the word. Fred is a frog who can not read words as we can but says everything in sounds, or Fred Talk. The children have met Fred during our sessions. These are words that are decodable because they only contain sounds that your child will be able to recognise. During our Read Write Inc sessions we practise our reading skills by reading Green Words. Phonics play there are several free games to play that will help your child with their blending and segmenting. Then they can see what word they have made with all of the sounds together. BBC bitesize this game allows your child to listen to the sounds in a word and to pick the correct letter. We watch Alphablocks in school so your child might recognise some of these already Phoneme pop the soundsletters drift by on bubbles and your child has to pop the matching sound Letters and sounds initial sound game this game lets your child reveal a soundletter and then try to find the picture that starts with the same sound.
